About Liz
The human body possesses a phenomenal and never-ending capacity to heal itself.
‘All living organisms, from the humble amoeba to the human, are born with devices designed to solve automatically, no proper reasoning required, the basic problems of life.’
Antonio Damasio.
My Approach
We all have this incredible capacity to heal. This happens naturally and at its own pace. My approach is to facilitate this process by creating a secure and nurturing environment, one conducive to reflection and gentle exploration, where together, we can uncover what gets in the way and what supports the natural healing process.
We may set some goals for the therapy, but I also value the importance of flexibility and to trust in the process. This helps to develop the self awareness skills to tune into all aspects of your being; your mind, your body, your emotions.
My ultimate objective is to empower you! By giving you greater assurance to navigate your life, you can embrace your authenticity, so finding a greater sense of freedom, peace and ease.
My Interests
My own journey I became intrigued by what enables real change and explored various practices like meditation, counselling, and psychotherapy. One pivotal realisation for me was to see that change occurred naturally when I was connected to my authentic self. When mind, emotions, body, and spirit are all aligned as a united whole there is a natural feeling of ease. Embracing these insights has enriched my life, and I'm passionate about helping others embark on their own transformative paths of self-exploration and inner alignment.
I have worked in specialised fields including eating disorders and chronic fatigue but now I have become drawn to looking at the root of our struggles. After finishing my training in Hakomi, for which I am a Certified Therapist, I have continued to study trauma and body based therapy.
My Spiritual Training
My spiritual journey started from wanting a way towards towards wholeness. Over the past 25 years, I have studied Buddhist philosophy as a student of Tibetan Buddhist Lama, Venerable Ringu Tulku Rinpoche and Adyashanti. I have a daily meditation practice, benefiting from participation in numerous silent retreats with Adyashanti and other teachers.
I would find it hard to define ‘spiritual’, believing it to be a profoundly personal experience, offering us unexpected and amazing experiences of transformation. However one of the challenges it offers is how to apply this in living life day-to-day. Finding an anchoring practice that sustains and nourishes you, such as meditation, self-enquiry or even walking in nature can provide a continual source of inner understanding, constancy, and strength.
